WENDY ILLINGWORTH

Wendy Illingworth is a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (Applied Psychologist) accredited by the BABCP with over ten years experience working in both the NHS and private sector as a lead therapist. She is currently working in a community mental health team NHS Psychology service. Wendy’s training and lengthy experience has involved working therapeutically with a wide range of psychological difficulties including depression, anxiety disorders (e.g. phobias, panic, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and post traumatic stress disorder). 

Wendy predominantly delivers cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) but is also trained in several psychological models including Eye Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Wendy has recently been involved in providing supervision on the Applied Psychology MSc at Stirling University. She very much works in an integrative way, taking into account the individual needs of the person she works with. Wendy aims to offer a warm, safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your difficulties. This will very much be a collaborative process beginning with an initial assessment to gain a deeper understanding of what has led you to engage in therapy.
