Sharon is a dedicated and experienced clinician with over 20 years experience working for the NHS within adult community mental health settings, supporting individuals with mild to severe conditions with a strong focus on person-centred care and recovery focused practice. Her core profession as an Occupational Therapist has deeply informed her approach to mental health care and draws on her clinical expertise, allowing her to consider the impact of mental health difficulties through a holistic and functional lens. This experience allows her to consider not only the clinical symptoms but also how these issues can affect a persons ability to engage in meaningful activity, daily routines, relationships and work, which compliments her work in psychological therapy interventions.

Sharon has developed her professional skills in psychological therapies by recently completing her Post-Graduate Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and she is in the process of completing her Post-Graduate Diploma in CBT at Queen Margaret University. She has been working within a Primary Care Mental Health service over the last 5 years providing evidence-based low intensity psychological interventions such as CBT and Behavioural Activation (BA) for common mental health conditions such Anxiety, Depression and Stress.

Sharon uses a collaborative approach, providing a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental, confidential and supportive space for individuals to develop a better understanding of their current difficulties and uses evidence-based interventions to help develop coping skills to support management of symptoms and support positive change in overall wellbeing.
